Cyberpunk 2077 Marks Its 4th Anniversary with Update 2.2
Cyberpunk 2077 has reached a significant milestone, celebrating four years since its release. To commemorate the occasion, CD Projekt RED dropped Update 2.2, which introduces new content, such as additional vehicles, an upgraded photo mode, more customization options for the protagonist V, and quest updates including bug fixes. Although these features aren’t game-changing, they signal that the game is continuing to evolve and improve even after four years.
The continued updates and improvements to Cyberpunk 2077 serve as a testament to CD Projekt RED’s dedication to refining the game post-launch. Once riddled with issues, the game has grown into a much more stable and enjoyable experience over time. It’s clear that CD Projekt RED is committed to supporting the game long-term, maintaining the interest of its dedicated community.
In addition to this anniversary update, CD Projekt RED released the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on December 5, 2023, for PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. This edition includes the main game along with the popular Phantom Liberty expansion.
Looking to the future, CD Projekt RED is turning its focus toward The Witcher series. The Witcher 4 is in development, though it will likely feature a new protagonist—either Ciri, Geralt’s adopted daughter, or an entirely fresh character. The game is expected to arrive no earlier than 2026. Meanwhile, a remake of the first Witcher game is underway and may be released sooner.
