Google has introduced new AI capabilities within its Google Docs platform, bringing an exciting feature for users who need AI-generated images. The new tool is powered by Google’s Gemini AI suite, which joins the ranks of other popular AI tools like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Copilot. Gemini’s Imagen 3 AI model will soon allow users to create images directly in their Google Docs documents, enhancing the editing experience for both individuals and teams.
For those who regularly use Google Docs and require visuals to complement their text, this update promises to significantly boost productivity. Users can generate images by simply heading to the Insert menu, selecting Cover image, and then clicking on Help me create an image. From there, users will be able to describe the desired image, choose from a range of visual styles, and let Gemini generate several options for them to select from.
The image-generation feature started rolling out on November 15, 2024, to users in the “Rapid Release domain.” It will become available to all other users in the “Scheduled Release domain” by December 16, 2024. However, access to this tool requires a subscription, available through the Gemini Business, Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium plans.
