Why Apple Intelligence in iOS 18.2 Isn’t Available for All iPhones
The iOS 18.2 update introduces Apple Intelligence, highlighted by a redesigned Siri interface featuring a captivating rainbow effect that encircles the entire screen. However, if you’re not seeing this effect and instead have the same Siri sphere from previous versions, it’s likely due to hardware limitations.
Apple Intelligence is designed for devices capable of advanced on-device AI processing. The following devices support these new capabilities:
- iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max
- All iPhone 16 models
- M-series Macs and iPads
- The latest iPad Mini with the A17 Pro chip
While Siri on eligible devices gains a shimmering transformation, older models retain the standard orb design. This visual update is just one part of the broader Apple Intelligence experience, which also includes enhanced writing tools, concise notification summaries, and an intelligent Clean Up feature for Photos.
If you’re not using a compatible device, you won’t see the new Siri visuals or access the Apple Intelligence features. For the full experience, upgrading to a supported model may be necessary.
