Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D Expected to Launch on March 12
AMD’s X3D processors have consistently delivered best-in-class gaming performance, and the upcoming Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D look set to continue that trend. With 3D V-cache proving to be a game-changer, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D has remained a sought-after chip since its launch. Now, AMD is gearing up for the next level, and March 12 might be the day gamers have been waiting for.
A listing on JD.com, one of China’s biggest online retailers (as reported by Tom’s Hardware), suggests that the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D will launch on March 12. While this isn’t an official announcement, it aligns with past AMD launches, making it a likely global release timeframe. The leaked pricing shows that the 9950X3D (16-core) is listed at 5,599 yuan ($772 USD), while the 9900X3D (12-core) comes in at 4,599 yuan ($634 USD).
For reference, the 9800X3D is priced at around 4,000 yuan (~$552 USD) in China but retails for $479 in the U.S., which is in line with China’s 15% VAT rate. Applying the same logic, the 9950X3D could be priced around $650–$660, while the 9900X3D may land near $540 in the U.S..
If these estimates hold, AMD’s new high-performance X3D chips will debut at pricing similar to their 7000-series counterparts, which launched at $700 for the 7950X3D and $600 for the 7900X3D. Of course, final prices could fluctuate due to factors like supply, demand, and market adjustments.
Gamers eager to upgrade should keep an eye out, as these chips could sell out quickly once available.
