GeForce Now Subscription Options Sold Out Amid Increased Demand

Nvidia’s GeForce Now cloud gaming service, which lets users play PC games without owning a gaming PC, is facing a significant availability issue. Most new subscriptions, including free accounts, day passes, and one-month passes, are currently unavailable due to high demand, as reported by ComputerBase in Germany (via Tom’s Hardware). However, one-month and six-month Ultimate passes, as well as six-month Performance passes, are still available for purchase. Availability varies by location, so some users may have access to different options.

GeForce Now works by providing users with cloud machines that run on real graphics cards, with each game session requiring a dedicated resource. To prevent system overload, Nvidia has restricted new account sign-ups, though the company hasn’t offered a full explanation for the increase in demand.

The exact cause of the strain on GeForce Now isn’t clear, but speculation points to potential upgrades in Nvidia’s data centers. With the RTX 50-series GPUs set to release soon, Nvidia might be preparing its infrastructure to accommodate the new hardware, particularly for its most premium Ultimate tier users.
