As a devoted audiobook listener, I find it hard to go more than a few days without immersing myself in a new story. Whether I’m on a long road trip or just relaxing at home, I can easily get through two or three audiobooks in a short span of time. However, the high cost of audiobooks is a significant downside, with prices staying stubbornly high, unlike their printed counterparts.
For those who are looking to enjoy audiobooks without the hefty price tag, there’s a limited-time promotional deal from Audible that’s worth considering.
New subscribers to Audible can get three months of service and three audiobook credits for just under $3 total. This is an incredible bargain, especially when you consider that a single audiobook can cost $20 to $30 when purchased outright, even in digital format.
Once the promotional period ends, the subscription will automatically renew at $15 per month. But here’s a little trick: if you cancel your subscription after receiving your third credit, you’ll still have access to the Audible app and all your audiobooks. This means you can continue listening to your purchased titles indefinitely, even after you’ve canceled the service.
To stretch your audiobook budget even further, keep an eye out for sales on Audible. While one credit typically costs around $15, the platform often runs sales where hundreds of audiobooks are available for $3 to $10 each. These sales are a great opportunity to stock up on titles while you’re subscribed, and then you can pause your subscription until you’ve listened to them all.
Although I do have some issues with Audible’s Android app—the main way I access my audiobooks on my phone—it’s still a convenient tool for managing my extensive library, which now boasts nearly 300 titles. (If you’re looking for a new audiobook to dive into, I highly recommend The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers!)
