In a bid to enhance guest experiences with expedited concession services, improved mobile ordering, and a streamlined digital payment processing system, Oak View Group (OVG), the world’s largest developer of sports and live entertainment venues, has officially partnered with Oracle. The collaboration will see the deployment of Oracle’s MICROS Simphony Cloud and Payments Cloud Service across OVG’s owned and operated arenas, with plans for a global rollout to its portfolio of arenas, stadiums, and event venues in the coming months.
The Oracle platform empowers OVG with real-time data access across its properties, facilitating informed operational decisions and a heightened understanding of fan needs. The solution introduces flexible configurations for food and beverage offerings, providing fans with an omnichannel ordering and payment experience. As part of this partnership, all OVG Hospitality partners will adopt contactless payment options, including debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
OVG’s Global Partnerships division orchestrated this groundbreaking deal and is tasked with activating Oracle’s marketing assets across all OVG arenas and stadiums. Oracle MICROS Simphony has already been implemented at OVG venues such as UBS Arena (home of the New York Islanders), Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, Moody Center at the University of Texas, CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Tahoe Blue Event Center in Stateline, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, University of Central Florida Athletics venues in Orlando, and Crown Complex in Fayetteville.
Ken Gaber, President of OVG Hospitality, emphasized that the partnership is entirely dedicated to enhancing the fan experience. The focus is on providing shorter lines, faster access to a diverse range of high-quality food and beverage options, and leveraging technology to mirror fans’ experiences in other aspects of their lives.
Oracle’s digital transaction platform, with validated integrations for over 200 applications, is set to automate every facet of OVG’s food and beverage operations, including financial, HR, and analytics platforms. OVG Hospitality will utilize integrated kitchen display and inventory systems to control costs, minimize waste, and efficiently fulfill orders from all channels. This technology empowers OVG to make real-time adjustments based on analytics, enhancing inventory management during events.
Simon de Montfort Walker, Executive Vice President and General Manager for Oracle Food and Beverage & Consumer Payments, expressed confidence that the collaboration would elevate the overall stadium visit experience by delivering innovations that fans desire.
