AMD has officially confirmed that its next-gen Ryzen 9000 desktop processors will be sold at lower prices than the previous Ryzen 7000 series, according to a recent announcement. The Ryzen 7 9700X will come in at $359, which is $40 less than the Ryzen 7 7700X, while the Ryzen 5 9600X will be priced at $279, a $20 decrease from the Ryzen 5 7600X. These processors are expected to launch on August 8.
In addition, the Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 7 9900X will be available starting August 15th, priced at $649 and $499, respectively—$50 less than their 7000-series predecessors. While these prices are not as low as the initial Best Buy leak suggested, they still offer notable savings for those looking to upgrade.
The Ryzen 9000 series was first revealed at Computex in June and faced delays to ensure top-notch performance and reliability. AMD’s move to lower prices amidst current inflationary pressures is a noteworthy development for the tech industry.
