Cloud gaming under ideal conditions is an impressive technological feat, and both Microsoft and Nvidia are at the forefront with Xbox Game Pass and GeForce Now.
Although they are competitors, both companies share a strong commitment to the PC gaming platform. Thus, it makes sense that Microsoft would use its website to spotlight games compatible with Nvidia’s streaming service.
A tweet from the official Xbox account revealed new functionality on the Microsoft game gallery, as noted by The Verge. Now, clicking the “PLAY with CLOUD” launch button on a game’s profile page offers a choice between Xbox Cloud Gaming (for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers) and GeForce Now.
Despite the announcement from Microsoft and the updated support page stating that the feature went live yesterday, I have not yet seen it enabled on my account. This is puzzling since I own several PC games through my Microsoft account that are playable on GeForce Now. It’s unclear whether there is a delay in the feature rollout on Microsoft’s backend or if the absence of a Game Pass subscription is affecting visibility.
