Google Workspace Gains AI Image Generation of People and Improved Gmail AI Suggestions
Google is continuing to enhance AI integration across Google Workspace, expanding the capabilities of Imagen 3. Initially introduced in November, Imagen 3 allowed users to generate AI images directly in Google Docs. Now, a new update enables the creation of AI-generated images of people, further broadening its functionality across multiple Google services.
This latest improvement makes AI image generation of people accessible in several key Google platforms, including the Gemini app and Gemini Advanced, as well as the sidebars of Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Slides. Additionally, users can leverage AI-generated images within Gmail, the “Help me create” feature in Google Docs and Vids, and the “Help me visualize” tool in Google Slides. These enhancements provide greater flexibility in AI-assisted content creation, making it easier to generate visual elements for presentations, emails, and documents.
While the rollout is mostly complete, Google has noted that Gemini app users may need to wait until March 1st for full access. However, users across Google Workspace tools and Gmail can already benefit from the new AI-powered image generation features.
Alongside this update, Google has also introduced a small but practical improvement for Gmail users on mobile. A new button in the Gmail app on Android and iOS now allows users to instantly paste AI-generated email suggestions into their drafts, making it easier to compose emails with Gemini-powered assistance. With these updates, Google continues to refine and expand its AI-driven productivity tools, offering users more ways to enhance their workflow with AI.
