AI-powered automotive solutions provider Cerence has partnered with Microsoft to integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology into its technology portfolio.
The companies worked together to develop a solution that will allow users to access ChatGPT via the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service in vehicles using the in-car platform Cerence Assistant.
“Generative AI has the potential to fundamentally change the way we interact with the automobile through natural language,” said Dominik Wee, Microsoft’s corporate vice president of manufacturing and mobility. “Together with Cerence’s deep automotive expertise, we are well positioned to support automakers in creating profoundly differentiated customer experiences.”
The organizations will continue to work together to deliver new features, including adding support for Microsoft content and online services such as Azure Maps.
“By combining our deep vertical expertise in transportation with Microsoft’s broad language model capabilities, we will exceed the sum of our parts and together deliver a robust solution that makes productive AI-powered innovation more accessible to automakers driving incredible transformation in the industry. ” said Cerence CEO Stefan Ortmanns.
