Nasdaq is enhancing its board management solution, Nasdaq Boardvantage, by migrating it to Microsoft Azure. This strategic move aims to provide board members with critical information and insights to facilitate better decision-making processes.
A key feature of this transition is the introduction of new artificial intelligence-powered capabilities, driven by the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. These capabilities are designed to assist governance professionals by automating manual tasks such as summarising reports, presentations, and agendas. This automation is expected to enable board members to make decisions more swiftly.
Jeff Thomas, executive vice president of corporate platforms at Nasdaq, commented on the initiative: “The document summarisation capability is the first of a series of planned AI-enabled offerings for Nasdaq Boardvantage customers. As we bring an intelligent layer to the board portal, it reflects our commitment to empowering boards to navigate the complexities of corporate governance and redefine what’s possible through integrated solutions. Our collaboration with Microsoft allows us to unlock greater business insights, accelerate innovation, and optimise operational excellence for our clients.”
Judson Althoff, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Microsoft, highlighted the benefits of this migration: “By migrating its board portal application Nasdaq Boardvantage to the Microsoft Cloud, Nasdaq is able to unlock new generative AI experiences – including a document summarisation capability built on Azure OpenAI Service – to help board members increase the efficiency of communications and gain insights for more informed decision-making.”
Nasdaq Boardvantage on Azure is currently available for customers in Asia, with a rollout underway in North America. Plans are in place to extend availability to other regions soon.
