For users who juggle several devices with a single Microsoft account, one incredibly handy feature is the ability to synchronize clipboard content across all those devices. Whether it’s files, images, or text snippets, keeping your clipboard in sync can make your workflow smoother and more efficient. Best of all, setting it up is straightforward, and we’ll walk you through it.
First, head to the Settings app on your Windows device and navigate to System -> Clipboard. Enable the Clipboard history option, which will allow Windows to save everything you’ve copied to the clipboard. You’ll also want to make sure that you see the message “Your Microsoft account is synchronized with Windows” displayed with a green icon at the top of the page, confirming that your account is linked to the clipboard history.
Then, toggle on the setting for “Clipboard history on all your devices”. This is where you can choose between two synchronization options. With Automatic synchronization, any text you copy will be synced across all devices linked to your Microsoft account without you having to lift a finger. If you’d rather have control over when content is synced, opt for Manual synchronization. In this case, you’ll sync specific clipboard items by accessing the clipboard history and clicking the cloud icon next to the text you want to sync.
The best part is that you can adjust these settings anytime. If you decide to stop using clipboard synchronization, simply disable the feature from the settings menu.
