Microsoft Cloud is now generally available in all Microsoft Azure regions; thus helping it accelerate digital transformation while prioritizing data security.
“Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty helps governments meet compliance, security and policy requirements while using the cloud to deliver superior value to their citizens,” said Corey Sanders, corporate vice president of Industry Cloud at Microsoft, in a blog post titled ‘Microsoft Cloud’. ‘It is now generally available for sovereignty and opens new avenues for government innovation’.
Microsoft has built the service in more than 60 cloud regions to provide cybersecurity and compliance coverage. It also provides controls to protect and encrypt data, and customers can adopt specific Azure policy initiatives to address the complexity of complying with regulatory requirements.
“This global service will deliver governance, security, transparency and sovereign technology and provide industry-leading cybersecurity with the broadest compliance coverage and most regions of any cloud provider,” said Satish Thomas, Microsoft’s corporate vice president. “I am especially grateful to our early customers and partners who have embarked on this journey with us to reach this milestone. We couldn’t achieve this without engaging with them; The workshops, the feedback, the joint development work were all invaluable.”
It was available in public preview in October for eligible customers using the cloud to meet data compliance and security requirements.
