The mini PC market is heating up, offering an enticing alternative to traditional laptops and desktops by providing powerful performance in a much smaller and more affordable form factor. GMKTec is getting ahead of the curve with their new EVO-X1, a mini PC packed with AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, which promises impressive power in a compact design.
Equipped with a 12-core Ryzen processor and integrated Radeon 890M graphics, the EVO-X1 includes 32GB of DDR5 RAM, dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 drives, and dual monitor support via HDMI and DisplayPort. One standout feature is its OCuLink port, providing easy access to external graphics if you want to upgrade performance further.
Despite its tiny form factor of just 0.7 liters and 4.3 inches in length, the EVO-X1 manages to deliver 70 watts of TDP thanks to a custom vapor chamber cooling system. This ensures not only that the Ryzen 370 can perform at its best, but also that the SSD and RAM stay cool under load, enabling superior performance compared to similarly spec’d laptops.
Currently, the EVO-X1 is slated for release in China by the end of the month for 5,300 RMB (approximately $733 USD). Though it’s a high price for a mini-PC, particularly when you need to supply your own storage and OS, the combination of cutting-edge components and compact size makes it a compelling option. If you’re outside China, be sure to check GMKTec’s global store for availability, though it likely won’t hit international markets until 2025.
