Govee is bringing a skylight-inspired solution to CES for anyone who wants brighter interiors without cutting a hole in the ceiling. The company has unveiled the Govee Sky Ceiling Light, a smart ceiling fixture designed to simulate natural daylight using what it calls custom-engineered LED technology and architectural gradient illumination. The goal is to recreate the look and feel of a real skylight, especially in windowless or dim living spaces.
The Sky Ceiling Light packs a total of 180 RGBICWW LEDs—84 in the main circular panel, 60 along the sides, and 36 on the rear—to produce up to 5,000 lumens of brightness at a daylight-equivalent 6,500K. For warmer ambiance, the color temperature can be adjusted down to 2,700K, making it suitable for softer morning or evening lighting. Measuring 21 x 4.3 inches, the ceiling light uses wired power and connects to in-ceiling wiring, though Govee says installation should be relatively straightforward. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced.
Control is handled through the Govee mobile app, which offers dozens of animated lighting scenes, smart automations, and wake-up or sleep routines. Govee has not yet confirmed integrations with major smart home platforms such as Alexa, Google Home, or Matter, but says more details are coming. Alongside the skylight-style model, Govee also introduced the Ceiling Light Ultra, which features a 616-pixel LED matrix focused on animated effects powered by the company’s AI Lighting Bot 2.0, as well as the Govee Floor Lamp 3, which debuts a new 16-bit LuminBlend+ color management system and adaptive DaySync lighting.
