Lian Li’s Wooden Desk PC Impresses With Premium Features but Raises Usability Concerns
Lian Li has unveiled the DK-07 WOOD, a new standing desk and PC case hybrid designed for enthusiasts seeking both performance and aesthetics in a single workstation setup. Combining a wooden exterior with tempered glass panels and support for dual high-end systems, the desk aims to deliver a premium experience for gamers, creators and advanced PC users.
Dual-System Support in a Premium Design
The DK-07 WOOD measures 1480mm wide, or roughly 58 inches, and can support up to 100 kilograms on its surface. Internally, the desk provides enough space for two separate E-ATX builds, allowing users to operate dual systems within the same chassis.
The design includes GPU riser mounts for vertical graphics card displays, removable motherboard trays for easier installation, multiple cooling configurations and dedicated storage compartments. Lian Li has also integrated a wireless charging pad into the desktop surface, reinforcing the desk’s high-end positioning.
At a retail price of approximately $1,400, the product enters the premium standing desk market while also functioning as a fully integrated PC enclosure.
Control Placement Draws Criticism
Despite the strong hardware-focused feature set, one design choice has attracted criticism from standing desk users. The desk’s height adjustment controls are positioned on the upper-left section of the desktop surface rather than along the front edge.
For many users, that area is typically occupied by daily items such as coffee mugs, laptops, notebooks or documents. As a result, the controls could frequently become obstructed during regular use.
The issue stands out further because Lian Li placed USB ports and power buttons for both internal PCs on the front edge of the desk, making them significantly easier to access.
A Design Focused More on Presentation
The placement of the lift controls has sparked questions about whether the desk prioritizes aesthetics over practicality. While the symmetrical layout contributes to the DK-07 WOOD’s clean visual appearance, some users argue that functionality may have been compromised in the process.
For minimalist setups designed primarily for presentation, the configuration may not create major issues. However, users who actively work with multiple devices and accessories throughout the day may find the control positioning inconvenient despite the desk’s otherwise premium engineering.
