AMD continues its upward trajectory in the PC CPU market, posting record desktop sales during Q3 2025 as CEO Dr. Lisa Su confirmed ongoing strength in the client segment. The company’s Client and Gaming division generated $4 billion in processor, CPU, and semi-custom chip sales for consoles, slightly below the $4.3 billion revenue from the data center, which dominated the earnings discussion due to surging AI demand.

Desktop CPUs, particularly Ryzen 9000 processors, saw unprecedented demand, pushing channel sell-in and sell-out to new highs. Su highlighted that AMD’s desktop market share has expanded by nearly 10 points year-over-year and expects further growth driven by a strong Ryzen portfolio and wider platform coverage. Ryzen notebooks also surged, signaling AMD’s increasing presence against Intel in the laptop space.

The company’s GPU segment also performed well, led by Radeon 9000 cards and the adoption of FSR4 technology, which leverages AI frame generation to enhance performance across 85+ supported games. Semi-custom chip sales rose as console production ramped up ahead of the holiday season, though AMD expects post-holiday gaming revenue to see a temporary dip.

For the quarter, AMD reported $9.2 billion in revenue, a 36% increase year-over-year, with net income of $1.243 billion, up 31%. The results underscore AMD’s expanding footprint across desktop, laptop, GPU, and console markets, with sustained momentum expected in the coming quarters.
