Another sports bundle emerges from ESPN and Fox

If you’ve been debating whether to get ESPN’s new streaming service or Fox One, you may not have to choose — but it will cost you. On October 2, ESPN Ultimate and Fox One will launch as a $40-a-month bundle, saving $10 versus subscribing separately.

The timing is tight: both services arrive individually on August 21. ESPN Ultimate alone runs $30 per month and offers the company’s full sports slate — ESPN’s linear channels, ESPN+, ESPN3, and conference-specific streams like SECN+ and ACCNX. Fox One, at $20 per month, includes Fox Sports, FS1, FS2, plus Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Weather, Fox Nation, local Fox stations, and the Fox broadcast network.

This two-in-one package has shades of the abandoned Venu Sports project — a planned Disney, Warner Bros., and Fox joint venture that would have sold sports streaming for the same $40 monthly price. That service never launched after legal action from Fubo prompted the companies to scrap the idea.

From a sports fan’s perspective, this new bundle covers a lot of ground — college football, NFL games, NBA matchups, MLB, and more — plus a side helping of cable news and network TV. The catch? Forty dollars a month is still steep, especially if you’re already paying for Netflix, Prime Video, Max, or other streamers.

For die-hard sports fans who want maximum coverage without a traditional cable package, this bundle could be a clean solution. For everyone else, it may feel like just one more expensive add-on in an already crowded streaming lineup.
