LG used CES 2026 to offer a first look at its next generation of ultra-light laptops, introducing the LG Gram Pro 17 and the more compact Gram Pro 16. While full specifications remain under wraps, the early details suggest LG is continuing to push the boundaries of portability without sacrificing performance.
One of the headline upgrades is the introduction of a new chassis material called “ultra-light Aerominum.” According to LG, this material has been developed in-house and is designed to significantly reduce weight while enhancing the overall rigidity of the laptop body.
LG says Aerominum not only improves structural strength but also offers increased resistance to scratches and daily wear. This should make the new Gram Pro models better suited for frequent travel and long-term use, addressing durability concerns often associated with ultra-thin laptops.
In addition to the new build material, the upcoming Gram Pro models are expected to feature refreshed internal hardware and brighter, more vivid displays. Together, these changes position LG’s 2026 Gram lineup as a serious contender in the premium lightweight laptop segment.
