Known for its gaming PCs and hardware, MSI is entering new territory with the launch of its “EV Life” home charging lineup for electric vehicles. The company has introduced eight Level 2 chargers in total, split across the EV Life and EV Life Plus families, priced from $449.99 to $599.99. All models support both SAE J1772 and NACS connectors, making them compatible with most existing EVs as well as upcoming vehicles like the 2026 Nissan Leaf that will adopt NACS charging.
MSI’s standard EV Life models use Bluetooth and a mobile app to handle charging data, while the EV Life Plus models add Wi-Fi and Ethernet for expanded connectivity. Buyers can choose between hardwired installations or plug-in versions designed for garage outlets. Each unit includes a 24.6-foot charging cable and supports Level 2 charging with up to 240 volts at 60 amps, equating to a maximum output of 14.4kW. That translates into a significant performance boost compared to Level 1 “trickle chargers,” delivering between 43 and 59 miles of range per hour instead of just a handful.
Durability is also a focus: the chargers are designed with IP55 and IP67 ratings for dust and water protection and can operate in extreme weather conditions from -40°F to 131°F. MSI has further ensured compliance with UL safety standards and Energy Star efficiency requirements, backing each product with a five-year warranty. By stepping into the EV charging market, MSI is positioning itself alongside major PC brands that have diversified in recent years, but this venture signals an especially bold pivot into an industry far removed from traditional gaming and computing gear.
