    Asus Unveils Next-Gen “BTF” Designs with 1,000W Graphics Card Power Connection at CES 2025

    Asus is once again at the forefront of the “War on Cables” movement, and this time, it’s looking to revolutionize power delivery to graphics cards. At CES 2025, the company revealed a new concept for BTF motherboards and cases that would feature an integrated 1,000-watt power connection directly on the motherboard, eliminating the need for cumbersome power cables snaking through your PC case.

    Building on its previous BTF designs, which included a proprietary connector capable of delivering 600 watts to a RTX 4070 Ti or 4090 GPU, Asus’ next-gen solution offers a dramatic increase in power capacity. The new design also introduces a removable component, acting as a bridge between the motherboard and GPU. This allows for flexibility, enabling users to install standard graphics cards with non-BTF motherboards, while also maintaining compatibility with the BTF setup for Asus cards.

    With the move to 1,000 watts, Asus is not just upping power delivery; they’re also reducing heat buildup and improving overall system efficiency. While the technology is still in the design phase, it’s expected that more details will emerge at Computex 2025 in May. If successful, this innovation could significantly change how users manage power connections and build PCs in the future, making cable management easier than ever.
