If you’re eyeing a new GPU, it’s not the best time to be shopping for high-end options. Nvidia’s RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 sold out in record time after their release, leaving many gamers scrambling. But for those looking for something more affordable, there’s hope: the RTX 5060 might be launching soon.
As reported by KitGuru, a China-based component supplier, Chaintech, has leaked details via a financial presentation about the upcoming RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti. According to the leak, these cards could be arriving as early as March 2025. While Nvidia hasn’t officially confirmed these models yet, it’s hard to ignore the likelihood of a RTX 5060 arriving soon, especially since Nvidia has historically followed up high-end launches with mid-tier models.
Chaintech works closely with Colorful, one of Nvidia’s major partners in China, so it’s unlikely that this information is fabricated. However, it’s important to remember that the leak only indicates when the parts are expected to be ready for card manufacturers. The final release could still take some time, potentially arriving by April or May.
Though the price remains a mystery, it’s safe to expect it to be cheaper than the RTX 5070, which has a starting price of $550. Still, the RTX 5060 may not have the performance to match its higher-tier siblings. Given that the RTX 5070 laptop variant comes with just 8GB of video RAM and that both the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti used 8GB in their base configurations, the RTX 5060 will likely follow suit.
