Acer has unveiled a broad lineup of new gaming laptops at CES in Las Vegas, focusing on slimmer designs and upgraded performance rather than experimental form factors. The refreshed range spans multiple price and performance tiers, aiming to cover everything from premium gaming systems to more portable, value-oriented machines.
Leading the lineup is the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI, Acer’s new thin-and-powerful flagship gaming laptop. The system is built around Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 9 386H processor and can be configured with Nvidia’s RTX 50-series graphics, topping out at the RTX 5070. Acer pairs that hardware with a 16-inch 2560×1600 OLED display, designed to deliver high contrast and vibrant colors for more immersive gameplay. Despite the performance focus, the Helios Neo 16S AI measures just 18.9mm thick, a notable reduction compared to many traditional gaming laptops with similar specifications.
The Helios Neo 16S AI also supports up to 64GB of DDR5 memory and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, positioning it as a capable option not only for gaming but also for demanding creative workloads. Acer emphasizes that the thinner chassis does not come at the expense of cooling, with an updated thermal design intended to keep performance stable during extended gaming sessions.
Below the Predator line, Acer is expanding its Nitro series with the Nitro V 16 and the slimmer Nitro V 16S AI. The Nitro V 16S AI is designed for portability, measuring under 17.9mm thick while still offering Intel Core Ultra 7 processors, RTX graphics options, high-refresh-rate displays, and a cooling system tuned for sustained performance. The standard Nitro V 16 targets users looking for similar gaming capabilities at a more accessible price point, with Acer describing the lineup as more “value-conscious” without sacrificing core gaming features.
All of Acer’s newly announced gaming laptops support Windows 11 Copilot+ features, alongside Acer Intelligence Space, the company’s suite of AI-powered tools aimed at gaming optimization, productivity assistance, and system management. Acer has not yet announced pricing details, but availability for the new Predator and Nitro laptops is expected sometime in 2026.
