New Dedicated IP from ExpressVPN Ensures Total User Anonymity

ExpressVPN has launched a new dedicated IP feature, adding another layer to its privacy-focused VPN services. Unlike traditional dedicated IPs, which often raise concerns about traceability, ExpressVPN’s approach ensures total anonymity, claiming that even the company itself cannot link a user to their assigned IP.

This optional add-on is available alongside ExpressVPN’s primary subscription plan, with support currently offered for Android, iOS, and Windows. The feature is expected to extend to other platforms in the near future. Customers can select from IPs located in 29 regions across 22 countries, predominantly in Europe and North America. Pricing starts at $3.49 per month for this added functionality.

What makes this offering stand out is its reliance on cutting-edge technology. The Zero-Knowledge IP Allocation system ensures that no identifiable information is associated with the assigned IP addresses. Blinded Tokens further enhance privacy by allowing servers to issue tokens without recognizing the users they are assigned to. ExpressVPN also utilizes AWS Nitro Enclaves for sensitive operations, which use isolated CPU cores and memory to safeguard data.

Transparency is a key component of this launch. To bolster user confidence, ExpressVPN has released a detailed technical white paper explaining the architecture, security measures, and privacy mechanisms that power its dedicated IP service. Pete Membrey, the company’s Chief Research Officer, emphasized the importance of this documentation, stating, “We’ve gone a step further to document this process, providing an in-depth look at our technical architecture, security measures, and privacy safeguards for full transparency.”

Samuel Bultez, ExpressVPN’s Head of Product, noted the significance of this release in meeting user demands. “Many of our users have requested the option of having a dedicated IP, and we’re glad to have developed a unique engineering solution to address the privacy concerns around traditional implementations of dedicated IP,” he said.

By prioritizing privacy, security, and transparency, ExpressVPN’s dedicated IP feature is setting a new benchmark for VPN services, catering to users who need static IPs without compromising their anonymity.
