Exploring iOS 18.3 Public Beta: What’s New and What to Expect

Apple has introduced the first public beta of iOS 18.3, giving both developers and beta testers early access to the latest software improvements. Released shortly after iOS 18.2, which introduced Apple Intelligence features such as Genmoji to select iPhones, this beta brings minor changes to refine the overall experience.

As with any beta release, it’s advised to install iOS 18.3 on a secondary device, as beta versions may come with bugs and could impact battery life. This first beta of iOS 18.3 is unlikely to be fully polished, so it’s important to keep that in mind while testing.

In terms of updates, there aren’t many noticeable new features in this beta, although there are a few small aesthetic updates, such as the addition of a dark mode icon in the Camera Control section of Settings. The primary focus here appears to be internal improvements and system stability enhancements.

Currently, only iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone 16 models have access to Apple Intelligence features like Genmoji. Users with other iPhones won’t be able to use these features yet. As this is just the first beta, we can expect further betas with new features and optimizations ahead of the final release of iOS 18.3. Apple has not yet shared a timeline for when the stable version will be available to the public.
