Chrome’s grip on the browser market has never been stronger. New statistics from Statcounter show that Google Chrome now commands 71.77 percent of global web usage across desktops, laptops, smartphones, and tablets—a record high for the platform.
Apple’s Safari retains second place with 13.9 percent, largely powered by iPhone users, while Microsoft Edge holds 4.67 percent. Other players such as Firefox (2.17%), Samsung Internet (1.86%), and Opera (1.74%) lag well behind.
Despite past anti-trust pressures and ongoing concerns about extensions and AI integration, Chrome’s popularity continues to soar, illustrating that most users remain unwilling to abandon Google’s flagship browser.
