Microsoft Xbox Live Outage Affects Gamers Worldwide On Tuesday, Microsoft’s Xbox Live service faced significant sign-in issues, leaving many users unable to access their Xbox profiles and play games on both consoles and PCs. The problem was officially recognized on the Xbox Live service page around 11:07 AM PT, with a related update at 2:38 PM PT.
The disruption was linked to the “account and profile” section, where users encountered difficulties signing in, staying connected, and using sign-in-dependent features such as games, apps, and social activities. The service page stated, “You may not be able to sign-in to your Xbox profile, may be disconnected while signed in, or have other related problems,” with a resolution pending.
The Xbox app for PC users also displayed an error message acknowledging the service issue. Even updating the app did not resolve the problem for users.
Different games responded differently to the outage. Classic Solitaire allowed play without sign-in, but users couldn’t save their progress to the cloud. More modern games like Brotato were completely unplayable without Xbox Live sign-in, affecting both console and PC users who rely on Xbox Live for game access.
As of now, Microsoft is working on resolving the issue, and gamers are hopeful for a quick fix to restore full functionality to Xbox Live services.
