Hideo Kojima’s influence on gaming is hard to overstate. From decades spent shaping the Metal Gear series to the more recent success of Death Stranding, his work has developed a visual identity that is instantly recognizable. That distinctive aesthetic is now crossing over into consumer hardware with a limited-edition version of Asus’s ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet, created in collaboration with Kojima Productions.
Dubbed the “KJP” edition, this special variant of the 13-inch gaming tablet leans heavily into the visual language associated with Kojima’s games, particularly Death Stranding. Carbon fiber accents, asymmetrical detailing, and a black-and-bronze color scheme give the device a rugged, near-future look that feels pulled straight from one of Kojima’s worlds. The detachable, Surface-style keyboard features mismatched key colors and unusual design extensions, reinforcing the idea that this is less a conventional PC accessory and more a piece of sci-fi equipment. Even the power adapter carries the skull logo of Kojima Productions, underscoring how far the collaboration extends.
One of the most striking elements of the KJP package is the included carrying case. Styled to resemble a hardened, military-style briefcase—evoking comparisons to a “nuclear football”—the case pushes the Death Stranding theme to its logical extreme. While far less practical than a standard soft laptop sleeve, as it can only accommodate the tablet and a handful of accessories, it serves as a bold visual statement and arguably the most memorable part of the bundle.
Under the hood, the 2026 revision of the ROG Flow Z13 is no less ambitious. The tablet is set to use AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395, one of the most powerful mobile processors currently available. Due to the constraints of a tablet form factor, graphics duties are handled by integrated Radeon 8060S graphics rather than a discrete GPU. Even so, performance is expected to approach RTX 4070-class levels in some scenarios, though users aiming for demanding workloads or 4K gaming will likely need to rely on an external GPU via a dock.
Pricing for the standard 2026 ROG Flow Z13 has not yet been announced, but expectations are already high given the hardware on offer. The limited-edition KJP variant is almost certain to command an even steeper premium. For those drawn to the Kojima Productions aesthetic but unwilling to pay for the full tablet, Asus will also offer a range of branded accessories, including a mouse, headset, and desk mat.
