Asus TUF Launches a Stylish Dual-Chamber PC Case: A Perfect Blend of Size and Aesthetics

The Asus TUF Gaming GT502 Horizon caters to those with a taste for a unique PC case aesthetic, resembling a miniature refrigerator, all while eschewing the glitz of RGB lighting. This model exemplifies a current trend in the industry towards larger, more visually captivating builds that invite curiosity about the premium components within. Asus embraces this concept with its dual-chamber structure, where the right side showcases all critical hardware through tempered glass, while the power supply and most cable routing are neatly tucked away in the rear.

Notably, the GT502 Horizon features a design that deviates from standard ATX dimensions, making it both shorter and wider. This provides Asus with the opportunity to prominently display the TUF branding on the exterior frame, which adds a touch of character to the overall appearance. The case excels in cooling capabilities, allowing for the installation of up to 360mm fans or radiators on both the top and front/side panels. With the capacity to support a total of 13 fans through an integrated PWM hub, users can achieve optimal airflow. Additionally, Asus provides an optional magnetic LED lighting kit, compatible with its Aura lighting system, allowing users to enhance the case’s appearance subtly without the full RGB experience.

One of the more curious features mentioned is the case’s ability to support a weight of up to 30kg (approximately 66 pounds) on its top surface. This claim raises eyebrows since conventional wisdom advises against placing heavy items on computer cases, particularly when they are designed to intake air from above. Asus has equipped the case with robust fabric handles to aid in repositioning, but the practical applications of this feature remain to be seen. Interestingly, the press release did not address compatibility with rear-mounted motherboards, a detail that would align with Asus’s ongoing efforts to combat cable clutter in its products. Although the GT502 Horizon is slated for release in the fourth quarter of this year, its pricing details have yet to be revealed, with the previous model retailing for approximately $160.
