Cemex, a leading global building materials firm, has partnered with Microsoft to introduce an innovative AI assistant called Technical Xpert. This custom-built solution aims to elevate the agility of Cemex’s sales force while enabling personalized customer solutions tailored to individual needs.

Running on the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service and seamlessly integrated into Microsoft Teams, Technical Xpert serves as a virtual chat window for Cemex employees. By leveraging this tool, sales representatives can swiftly navigate Cemex’s extensive product portfolio, facilitating quicker responses to customer inquiries and offering personalized recommendations with precision and efficiency.

According to Cristhian Alday, a commercial advisor at Cemex, Technical Xpert has revolutionized the information retrieval process, drastically reducing response times. What previously required navigating through multiple channels and waiting for hours can now be accomplished within seconds, empowering sales teams to engage with customers more effectively and proactively.

Microsoft played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful deployment of Technical Xpert, providing expertise in architecture design and security implementation. Together, both organizations collaborated to develop a flexible solution that can seamlessly accommodate future product additions and enhancements.

Deb Cupp, President of Microsoft Americas, emphasized the transformative impact of Technical Xpert’s advanced AI capabilities. By offering comprehensive product insights and detailed recommendations, the AI assistant equips Cemex employees with the tools needed to drive sales growth and enhance customer satisfaction.

Through this collaboration, Cemex and Microsoft are reshaping the future of sales operations, leveraging AI-driven innovation to foster agility, efficiency, and sustainable growth in the competitive building materials industry.
