Canadian cloud solutions provider Softchoice has significantly improved its operational efficiency by adopting Copilot for Microsoft 365. The integration of this generative AI tool has reduced the time required for summarizing meetings by 75%.

Recognizing the transformative potential of AI, Softchoice embarked on an expansive deployment of generative AI technologies to enhance the productivity of its employees and deliver better services to its customers. “At the outset of our AI journey, we saw immense potential in conversational AI tools,” stated Matt Vasil, Softchoice’s director of emerging technologies. “Guiding our team to safely and effectively use these tools was crucial. Adopting Copilot was a natural progression. We expanded our AI policy to support our team in leveraging these tools creatively and effectively, backed by comprehensive training and continuous feedback.”

Softchoice’s strategic implementation of Copilot was rooted in a user-focused approach. The company analyzed its workforce to identify key areas where Copilot could provide the most value. This led to the development of five distinct personas: the seller, the delivery agent, the content creator, the analyst, and the people manager. More than 50 employees from these groups participated in a three-week pilot program to test and provide feedback on Copilot’s capabilities.

The results of this pilot were compelling. Copilot reduced the time needed to create presentations by 62%, develop eLearning modules by 70%, review bid proposals by 50%, and summarize meetings by a remarkable 75%.

Amy Hansen, director of customer success and advisory services at Softchoice, emphasized the positive impact on employee engagement. “Our team members are most motivated when they can focus on meaningful and challenging work,” she said. “The adoption of Copilot for Microsoft 365 has been crucial in freeing our team from time-consuming administrative tasks like documenting meeting minutes and action items. Many of our employees have expressed how Copilot has saved them valuable time, allowing them to dedicate more effort to engaging with clients and enhancing their work experience.”

In sum, Softchoice’s integration of Copilot for Microsoft 365 has not only streamlined their internal processes but also fostered a more engaging and productive work environment for their employees.
