Epic Games is pushing PC gaming on Arm-based chips forward with its latest update to the Epic Online Services (EOS) SDK, which now includes full Arm64 support. The change allows more games, including Fortnite, to run natively on Windows laptops using Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite processors—no emulation required, as long as players are running version 38.00 or later.
Early impressions, as reported by Windows Latest, suggest that Fortnite runs surprisingly well on these Arm-powered machines, with only minor lag appearing during some sessions. Continued optimizations are expected, and Epic Games’ commitment to native Arm support could be a sign of things to come.
Gaming on Arm hardware has historically been limited due to lack of developer support and optimization challenges. With Epic taking the lead, this update could signal the start of a genuine shift in PC gaming compatibility—one that makes Arm devices far more appealing to both developers and players alike.
