Debuting at CES 2024, Frore Systems unveiled its AirJet Mini Slim, the second generation in its cooling technology lineup, introducing the concept of “Frore’s Law.” In a playful nod to Moore’s Law, Frore’s Law signifies a commitment to doubling cooling performance every two years while keeping the Z-height constant or reducing the chip’s thickness without compromising cooling prowess.

The AirJet Mini Slim exemplifies the latter aspect of Frore’s Law, showcasing a reduction in thickness from 2.8mm to an ultra-sleek 2.5mm, while still delivering a formidable 1750 pascals of air pressure at a minimal 21 dBA of noise. Remarkably, the weight has been trimmed down to a mere 8 grams. What sets this cooling solution apart is its innovative self-cleaning mechanism, allowing it to reverse airflow and automatically clean its filters, complemented by a built-in thermal sensor for intelligent activation at specific temperatures.

Frore’s commitment to innovation was showcased at their booth, featuring demonstrations with Apple MacBooks and SSDs that seamlessly integrated the AirJet Mini Slim as a replacement for conventional heat sinks. Engineers at Frore believe that the flexibility of their MEMS-activated membrane allows for continuous improvement, be it by expanding membrane features or further reducing the chip’s thickness, ensuring the longevity and applicability of “Frore’s Law” in shaping the future of cooling solutions.
