The days of slim, elegant GPUs might not be entirely gone, thanks to Inno3D’s announcement of the RTX 5090 and 5080 iChill Frostbite Pro models. Unlike the massive three- and four-slot monsters common in modern gaming PCs, these cards take an opposite approach by offering premium performance in a much slimmer, liquid-cooled form factor—at the cost of complexity and price.
According to details from VideoCardz, the iChill Frostbite Pro RTX 5090 measures just 223mm long, 134mm tall, and 20mm thick—far smaller than Nvidia’s own already-compact Founder’s Edition. The RTX 5080 variant is even tinier at just 187mm by 110mm, making these cards attractive options for high-end small form factor builds. A stylish carbon fiber backplate completes the sleek look, but don’t be fooled: these are not plug-and-play solutions.
Both GPUs rely on custom liquid cooling blocks and require a full custom loop setup, including a radiator, reservoir, and pump. Builders familiar with water cooling will appreciate the design, but for newcomers, it represents a steep learning curve and a significant cost. Inno3D recommends a minimum 1000W PSU to run the RTX 5090, which already suggests a build full of power-hungry, premium components—likely pushing the total system cost past $4,000 USD.
There’s no official pricing yet, but with availability expected soon, enthusiasts willing to take on a custom loop build will want to keep an eye out. For those who want liquid cooling with less hassle, MSI’s AIO-equipped RTX 5090 offers an alternative—albeit one that sacrifices some of the elegance and compactness of Inno3D’s design.
