AMD’s Ryzen 5 7500X3D has quietly entered the U.S. market through an exclusive pre-built desktop at Brooklyn’s Micro Center. Featuring six cores running at 4.0GHz and equipped with 3D V-cache for improved gaming performance, the chip occupies a position just below the Ryzen 5 7600X3D. Currently, it is only available in the PowerSpec pre-built model, with no word from AMD on whether it will be sold separately for DIY builders.
This launch continues AMD’s strategy of refreshing older CPU generations alongside newer ones. Although the Ryzen 9000 series is now on AM5 motherboards, the 7500X3D is part of the slightly older Ryzen 7000 line — a tactic AMD previously employed with new AM4 chips compatible with nearly decade-old platforms. Micro Center exclusives are familiar territory: last year, the 7600X3D made its U.S. debut through the retailer, boosting pre-built and boxed sales alike.
AMD’s X3D processors have been a major success, particularly among gamers, combining strong performance with upgrade-friendly designs. In the year ending Q2 2025, AMD gained 9.2 percent of the desktop market, largely at Intel’s expense. The new 7500X3D offers a more affordable 6-core entry point into the X3D ecosystem. With Micro Center continuing to expand while other PC-focused U.S. retailers vanish, exclusive CPUs like this one highlight how the store remains a key destination for enthusiasts seeking cutting-edge hardware.
