Nvidia Unveils Free GeForce Trading Cards Celebrating 30 Years of PC Gaming
Nvidia has introduced GeForce Trading Cards: Series 1, a free collectible card series that pays tribute to some of the most iconic graphics cards, tech demos, and PC games in the company’s history. Released as part of the Summer of RTX campaign, the collection features 14 unique cards highlighting key moments that helped define the GeForce brand over the past three decades.
While they resemble trading cards, these are purely commemorative collectibles and are not intended for gameplay.
A Tribute to GeForce History
The inaugural Series 1 collection spans generations of Nvidia hardware, featuring artwork inspired by landmark graphics cards, including:
- NV1 (1995)
- GeForce 256 (1999)
- GeForce 3 (2001)
- GeForce 7800 GTX (2005)
- GeForce GTX 1080 (2016)
Each card showcases a different milestone in Nvidia’s evolution, celebrating products that influenced PC gaming and graphics technology.
Classic Tech Demos and Games Included
The collection also honors some of Nvidia’s most memorable technology demonstrations and gaming partnerships.
Featured tech demos include:
- Bubble
- Chameleon
- Medusa
Meanwhile, several iconic PC games are represented as well, including:
- Unreal Tournament 2004
- Borderlands
Together, the cards highlight the hardware and software that helped shape generations of PC gamers.
How to Get the Cards
Nvidia is distributing the GeForce Trading Cards free of charge through its Summer of RTX promotional campaign.
Collectors can obtain them through:
- Nvidia’s official social media giveaways
- Gaming conventions
- Major events such as Gamescom 2026
Availability is expected to be limited, making complete sets more difficult to obtain over time.
A Free Nvidia Collectible—For Now
Unlike today’s graphics cards, which continue to be affected by elevated pricing due to the ongoing memory shortage, these collectible cards won’t cost anything directly from Nvidia.
However, as with many limited promotional items, they could eventually become sought-after collectibles on the secondary market once distribution ends.
Celebrating Three Decades of PC Gaming
With GeForce Trading Cards: Series 1, Nvidia is looking back at the products, technologies, and games that established GeForce as one of the most recognizable brands in PC gaming.
For longtime enthusiasts, the cards offer a nostalgic look at graphics hardware history, while newer gamers get a visual tour through some of the milestones that helped shape modern PC gaming.
