In response to the US government’s recent ban on Kaspersky antivirus software, users are urged to prepare for the upcoming cessation of essential services. Effective July 20, Kaspersky will halt new sales and third-party partnerships, with complete discontinuation scheduled for September 29, including virus definitions, updates, and network operations.

While current users can continue using Kaspersky legally for now, ensuring ongoing protection for your PC is paramount. Here’s a guide on how to safely uninstall Kaspersky and ensure your computer remains secure.

    How to Uninstall Kaspersky:

    • For Windows 10: Navigate to the Start Menu or system search, type “apps,” select “Apps & Features,” find Kaspersky in the list, click on it, and choose uninstall. Follow any on-screen prompts and reboot your PC if required.
    • For Windows 11: Go to the Start Menu or system search, type “apps,” select “Add or remove programs,” locate Kaspersky, click the three-dot icon next to it, select “Uninstall,” and reboot your computer if prompted.

Once uninstalled, Windows Security automatically activates core protection features, such as the Microsoft Defender antivirus engine and Windows Firewall. You can continue using Windows Security or explore alternative antivirus solutions to suit your needs.
