The evolution of gaming laptops has been remarkable, with many now offering performance levels comparable to similarly priced desktop systems. Unfortunately, prices haven’t necessarily dropped, making it crucial to find good deals when they arise.
Today, I’m thrilled to introduce the Lenovo LOQ gaming laptop, featuring an Intel Core i5 processor and Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics card, available for just $641.06 on eBay.
Before you decide, there are a couple of caveats to keep in mind. First, this is a refurbished laptop, but it’s one of the best in its class. It’s sold directly through Lenovo’s official eBay account and comes with an impressive two-year warranty, outclassing the warranties often found with new laptops.
While the RTX 3050 with 6GB of video RAM is somewhat entry-level among modern graphics cards, it performs well with titles like League of Legends and Counter-Strike. However, for more demanding games like Space Marine 2, you may need to lower the settings to achieve 60 frames per second.
The Lenovo LOQ 15 boasts strong specifications, including a 13th-gen 8-core processor and a vibrant 15.6-inch IPS screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. It also comes equipped with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, both of which are upgradeable with relative ease.
This laptop is somewhat bulky, designed primarily for desk use. Weighing in at 5.29 pounds (2.4 kilograms) and measuring just under an inch thick, it’s not particularly portable. Additionally, the 60-watt-hour battery may not hold up for extended gaming sessions when unplugged.
On the connectivity front, you’ll find plenty of options. The left side includes a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port and a headphone jack, while the right side has a standard USB-A port. The back of the laptop is equipped with two more USB-A ports, a full-sized HDMI 2.1, and a full-sized Ethernet port, eliminating the need for dongles. The laptop comes with a barrel charger, but you can also use the USB-C port for charging, allowing up to 140 watts and DisplayPort video capabilities.
