SwitchBot Hub 3 Now Available for Preorder at $119.99

SwitchBot’s new Hub 3 smart home controller is now available, and it’s packed with enough innovation to distinguish itself from just about every other smart hub currently on the market. Priced at $119.99, the Hub 3 delivers a unique hands-on experience, starting with its standout feature: a rotary knob. This analog-style controller enables users to make precise adjustments to smart thermostats, dim smart lights, or control speaker volume—functions that are typically handled through apps or voice commands. The physical feedback of the knob offers a refreshingly direct interaction in a world full of virtual sliders.

One of the more ingenious aspects of the Hub 3 is its dual-purpose USB-C power cable. This isn’t just a cord for power delivery—it also acts as an environmental sensor, capturing ambient temperature and relative humidity data from the room. These readings are displayed right on the front of the device, eliminating the need to purchase separate sensors for basic environmental monitoring. That kind of smart design is indicative of the product’s overall approach: multipurpose, integrated, and user-friendly.

Connectivity is robust as well. With both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi onboard, the Hub 3 can manage nearly every product in the SwitchBot lineup, including smart locks, curtain motors, and tilt-blind controllers. More importantly, it bridges those devices to the Matter standard, allowing them to work in harmony with other brands and ecosystems. The hub also includes infrared (IR) transmit and receive capabilities, so it can communicate with legacy devices such as TVs, sound systems, or standalone air conditioners—extending its usefulness far beyond typical smart gear. Compatibility with major ecosystems like Alexa, Siri, Google Home, SmartThings, and IFTTT ensures broad integration options.

SwitchBot hasn’t skimped on usability either. Users can create up to 30 programmable automation commands, linking Matter-compatible devices from other brands to form intricate home scenes—particularly useful for Apple Home users looking to unify their environment. The hub includes a tabletop stand and mounting options with screws or adhesive tape, so it can fit seamlessly into your living space. In short, the Hub 3 is more than just a smart home bridge—it’s a thoughtfully designed command center for your entire connected lifestyle.
