Microsoft has announced progress on its Cross-Device Resume feature, which allows users to continue activity from Android apps directly on Windows 11 PCs. Originally demonstrated with Spotify, the capability is now being expanded to include Microsoft Office apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with web browsing sessions started on Android devices.
The feature also integrates with the Copilot mobile app, enabling users on supported Android phones from brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Honor to open cloud-stored files directly on their Windows 11 computers. This aims to streamline workflows across mobile and desktop environments without manual file transfers or app switching.
Cross-Device Resume is currently available to Windows Insiders running Release Preview builds 26100.7701 and 26200.7701. Microsoft has not yet confirmed when the feature will roll out to all Windows 11 users, but the broader app support suggests a public launch may be approaching.
