Brave Browser, known for its commitment to privacy and security, has now crossed a major milestone: 100 million active monthly users as of September 2025, according to a recent company update. This represents a dramatic increase from the 50 million monthly users reported in 2021, showing steady growth over four years.
CEO Brendan Eich highlighted the reasons behind Brave’s success, stating that users are increasingly valuing control over their online experiences and protection from the tracking and data practices of Big Tech. Brave has expanded beyond its browser to include a search engine, premium products, and a privacy-respecting ad platform—all designed with these principles in mind.
Brave Search, the company’s Google alternative, now processes over 20 billion search queries annually, up from just 2.3 billion in 2021, reflecting an 8.7-fold growth. The browser continues to attract security-conscious users with features like ad and tracker blocking, private browsing with Tor, and advanced cookie and script controls, solidifying its position as one of the best browsers for privacy.
