Get Spooked This Halloween with Free Games from Epic Games Store

Halloween brings the thrill of the supernatural, and while traditional horror films remain popular, gamers are increasingly embracing video games for their seasonal scares. This Halloween, the Epic Games Store is giving away two fantastic games that are perfectly aligned with the holiday vibe, including one notable freebie that usually comes at a price.

    Ghostwire: Tokyo

First up is Ghostwire: Tokyo, a title released by Bethesda Softworks in 2022. Despite being from a renowned publisher, it didn’t gain significant traction, perhaps due to its marketing strategy or poor timing. Nevertheless, the game offers a compelling mix of action and mystery as players navigate a hauntingly beautiful Tokyo, now abandoned and plagued by ghostly beings called Yokai.

Players assume the role of a character endowed with supernatural abilities, aiming to defeat a masked villain responsible for the eerie occurrences while also trying to save his younger sister. Although not without its faults—such as some criticized gameplay mechanics and a less-than-exciting open-world structure—Ghostwire: Tokyo impresses with its visuals created in Unreal Engine 5 and rich nods to Japanese culture. It holds a commendable Metacritic score of 77/100 and is available for free, a significant saving from its standard price of $59.99.

    Witch It

The second title available for free is Witch It, a multiplayer game that serves as a fun, light-hearted counterbalance to heavier titles. In this game, players engage in a vibrant game of hide-and-seek where witches transform into various objects to evade capture. The whimsical art style and engaging gameplay keep things entertaining, particularly during the initial matches.

As players seek to survive until the timer runs out, Witch It offers various game modes and unlockable cosmetics to keep the experience fresh. Normally priced at $19.99, this title is currently free for a limited time.

How to Get Your Free Games

These two games can be claimed between Thursday, October 31, and Thursday, November 7, with both offers starting and concluding at 12 PM ET. To secure your copy of Ghostwire: Tokyo, click here, and for Witch It, click here. A free Epic Games account is all you need to claim and keep these titles forever.

Don’t forget to check out the Halloween Sale section for hundreds of discounted games and DLCs, but hurry—this sale ends today! Grab your favorites before they vanish!
