SmartWings Revolutionizes Smart Blinds with PoE Matter Integration

SmartWings has announced a breakthrough in smart home technology with the launch of its PoE Matter-over-Ethernet Motorized Shades, billed as the first of their kind. These new shades combine the cutting-edge Matter protocol with Power over Ethernet (PoE) for a seamless, reliable smart home experience.

Available in multiple styles including roller, zebra, woven wood, and Roman shades, the new PoE Matter motor provides an eco-friendly, hassle-free alternative to battery-operated shades. By drawing power directly from the Ethernet cable, these blinds eliminate the need for nearby electrical outlets or frequent battery swaps, making them ideal for both residential and commercial settings.

Thanks to the integration of the Matter protocol, SmartWings’ motorized shades can easily connect with a wide range of smart home platforms, including Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, and Samsung SmartThings. For users of high-end systems like Control4 or RTI, the shades can be integrated through SmartWings’ Smart Link hubs.

To use these shades, you’ll need a PoE-capable Ethernet switch and a single PoE cable, which can be neatly hidden in the walls for a clean look. The shades support cable runs up to 100 meters, making them a versatile option for various installation setups.

SmartWings’ PoE Matter smart shades are now available for custom orders, and a full review will be provided soon to explore their performance in more detail.
